The Vampires v Ninjas v Pirates.
Three almighty clans line up. Only ONE will survive and win the ellusive Alcon trophy (rumoured to contain the convention's soul)! Will it be those sneaky ninjas, those wicked vamps, or those pesky pirates? YOU, the member, shall decide!
This time around, rather than there just being one memberbadge, there shall be THREE different memberbadges. The type of memberbadge you shall receive will depend upon which clan you're with (Want all three memberbadges? Don't worry! If you want, you can pay an extra £5 to become an Alcon Supporter, and you'll be handed all three - read here for more info).
We also strongly encourage our members to have a costume or cosplay ready for your clan. Why just signup, when you can also BE a pirate/vampire/ninja? ^_^ Get into the spirit of Alcon 2008, and join the epic struggle today!

Upon Registration...
Upon registration, you will be asked to signup for the Vampires, Pirates or Ninjas. Depending on if the clan still has space, you will either be accepted, or asked to join another one.
There are a few straightforth rules -
- Each clan has a cap on how large it can be. We raise that cap as more members signup. The current cap is 80 members per clan.
- The best way to ensure you get into the clan you want to be in is to signup and pay early! IF you pay before April 31st, you get to be in whatever clan you want to be in 100%, regardless of caps up to one week before the convention.
- Failing this you can pay an extra £5 to become an Alcon Supporter! This gives you all three member badges (Vampire, Ninja & Pirate badges), as well as a choice of whatever clan you want to be in 100% regardless of caps.
- Even failing this.. Every so often we remove inactive members (Shall be all unpaid on April 31st and all unpaid on July 31st). This may free up space for you to join the clan of your choice.
- You can switch up to two weeks before the convention if you're moving into a clan with space, are an Alcon Supporter, or paid before April 31st. Thereafter you are permanently locked in to the clan you're with.
And the Winner Is...
Every contest at Alcon will award the winner's clan some points. At the end, the clan with the most points gets to win the Alcon Trophy.
There shall also be three BIG clan-wide events, that are team games (This is obviously still subject to some change) -
- Treasure Hunt.
- Alcon Assassins.
- The Conbadge Quest.
For the technically minded, allocation of points shall be broken down in the following way -
45% of points for the big clan-wide events.
45% of points for the other events combined.
10% of points for final awards in closing, as judged by an independent panel.
